Industrial Services

Insulation, fireproofing, scaffolding and protective coatings for operating plant, shutdowns and new-build industrial projects.

Insulated and clad process piping running through a plant structure

01Scope

What is included.

Industrial insulation

Insulation systems specified for thermal performance, vibration resistance, mechanical durability and environmental exposure — then installed to match.

  • Hot insulation — heat loss control and process temperature maintenance
  • Cold insulation — condensation and energy-loss prevention on low-temperature systems
  • Cryogenic insulation — LNG and gas processing at extremely low temperatures
  • Acoustic insulation — sound attenuation on piping and equipment

Applications

  • Pipelines and piping systems
  • Boilers and furnaces
  • Storage tanks and vessels
  • LNG and cryogenic systems
  • Process equipment

Fireproofing and passive fire protection

Executed to international codes and to client specification, for structural integrity under fire load.

  • Cementitious fireproofing application
  • Intumescent coating systems
  • Fire-resistant cladding and protection
  • Structural steel fireproofing

Scaffolding and access

Safe access to tanks, vessels, pipe racks and structural installations for construction, maintenance and shutdown activity.

  • Scaffolding design and engineering — drawings, load calculations, technical support
  • Supply, erection and dismantling to approved design
  • Tube-and-fitting scaffolding systems
  • Modular and system scaffolding
  • Temporary access platforms and structures
  • Inspection and certification by trained personnel

Blasting and industrial painting

Surface preparation and coating for corrosion protection, environmental exposure and operational wear.

  • Surface preparation and abrasive blasting
  • External industrial painting
  • Internal protective coatings
  • Rubber lining applications

02Method

How the work is actually executed.

Published so an engineer can assess it before award, rather than after mobilisation.

Securement and cladding

Insulation is only as good as how it is held and finished. Single- and double-layer systems over piping are secured to prevent movement and thermal short-circuiting, then clad to shed water and survive the working environment.

  • Single- and double-layer securement over piping
  • Jacketing and typical cladding details
  • Sound-barrier layer installation
  • Support rings selected by line class — hot, cold, steam-tracing and small-bore

Vapour barriers and contraction joints

On cold and cryogenic systems the vapour barrier is the system. PIR is installed to the isometric thickness with a secondary vapour barrier between layers, and contraction joints are set so the system can move without opening a path for moisture.

  • Surface vapour stop applied before installation
  • PIR to isometric thickness with secondary vapour barrier between layers
  • Contraction joints on vertical runs and on horizontal single-layer runs
  • Staggered joints on bends, elbows and tees

Removable jacket fabrication

Valves, flanges and instruments that need routine access get purpose-fabricated removable jackets. Jackets are fabricated, segregated and stacked in designated storage under electronic monitoring so the right one is found when the plant needs it.

  • Unfaced fibreglass blanket, 48 kg/m³
  • Silicone-coated glass cloth, 544 g/m² and 1088 g/m²
  • PTFE-coated fibreglass sewing thread, ST300
  • HL50 hook-and-loop closures and fibreglass rope
  • Brass D-rings, eyelets and cord end clips
